Allow-list the KoboldQA bot

Let Moss test stores that use bot protection.

Moss tests your preview theme with a real browser. Every request it makes sends this user agent:

User-Agent: KoboldQA/1.0 (+https://usekobold.com/bot)

If your store sits behind bot protection (Cloudflare, a captcha app, geo-blocking), Moss may get a challenge page instead of your store. Kobold retries twice and then moves the task to Needs your help with: "Your store blocks automated visitors. Allow Kobold's test browser or add a storefront password."

Fix it

Choose one:

  1. Allow the user agent. In your bot-protection tool, add a rule that allows requests whose user agent contains KoboldQA/1.0.
  2. Add a storefront password. Under Store settings → Storefront access, save your storefront password. Moss logs in through /password before testing.

Then press Retry on the task.
